The term ‘Herpes on the arm’ refers to the skin breakout by a virus called Herpes Simplex Virus. To establish themselves in any part of the body, it triggers many little fluid-filled blisters around the any particular area of the body. They can take place anywhere in the whole body including lips, face, hands, arms, neck etc. If the viruses are spread on these type of parts on the body, then it is called Oral herpes or fever blisters.

The reason behind oral herpes is HSV-1 but sometimes HSV-2 may also be the cause.


There are a variety of things that can activate an episode of fever blisters. These consist of:.

  • Psychological tension.
  • Strong sunshine on the lips.
  • Tiredness.
  • Fever
  • An injury to the mouth or arm
  • Menstruation.

These type of HSv can cause genital herpes also. If there is a skin to skin contact with a herpes virus infected person then the viruses may pass by mouth or oral sex.
